Srinagar, Dec 24 : Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday recorded seven more deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,860 in the Union Territory while as 291 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 119,344 in J&K.

Of the exact number of 119,344 cases, 70,197 are from Kashmir and 49,147 from Jammu division. Officials told that among 291 new cases, 147 belong to Kashmir division while as 144 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 70,197 including 67,262 recoveries and 1,174 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 49,147 including 46,682 recoveries and 686 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3,540 including 1,761 from Kashmir division and 1,779 from Jammu division.

With 299 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 113,944 which is 95.47 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 66 from Srinagar, 07 from Baramulla, 22 from Budgam, 12 from Kupwara, 18 from Pulwama, 03 from Anantnag, 03 from Bandipora, 04 from Ganderbal, 04 from Kulgam and 08 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 144 from Jammu division include 94 from Jammu, 09 from Udhampur, 08 from Rajouri, 03 from Doda, 08 from Kathua, 03 from Kishtwar, 08 from Samba, 01 from Poonch, 06 from Ramban and 04 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours seven persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them three belong to Kashmir division and four to Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Srinagar, Budgam and Anantnag in Kashmir division and three from Jammu district and one from Samba in Jammu division.

As per officials figures, 24,931 positive cases including 444 deaths and 23,848 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,887 including 170 deaths and 7,567 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,493 including 7,198 recoveries and 107 deaths are from Budgam, 5,476 including 5,242 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Kupwara, 5,471 including 88 deaths and 5,202 recoveries are from Pulwama, 4,752 including 4,561 recoveries and 83 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,623 cases including 4,485 and 59 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,441 including 4,290 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,650 including 2,527 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,473 including 2,342 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 23,243 including 22,042 recoveries and 350 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,054 including 3,881 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,805 including 3,532 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,356 including 3,205 recoveries and 61 deaths are from Doda, 3,132 including 3,009 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kathua, 2,714 including 2,637 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,708 including 2,429 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Samba, 2,437 including 2,385 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,083 including 2,026 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,615 including 1,536 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 859,500 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 17,302 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 3,540 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 808,576 persons have completed surveillance period and 28,222 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 3,639,084 samples are available.

Out of 3,639,084the number of samples tested negative stands at 3,519,740 while as 119,344 have tested positive, among them 3,540 persons are active, 113,944 persons have recovered and 1,860 persons have died
