“The minimum temperatures dropped further across Jammu and Kashmir today. These temperatures are likely to drop further as the weather is likely to remain dry,” he said.
“Another spell of moderate rain/snow is most likely (predictability up to 70%) during November 23 evening/night to November 25 with the main activity on November 24, which may lead to temporary closure of various vulnerable passes,” he added.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded 1.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature on today as compared to Thursday’s 0.1.
The famous ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir, which experienced heavy snowfall on various occasions, was the coldest place in Kashmir with a low of minus 7 degrees Celsius.
The famous hill resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a minimum of minus 2.4 degrees Celsius.
Kupwara township of north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 0.5 degrees Celsius. Kokernag, in south Kashmir, recorded 0.1 degrees Celsius while Qazigund registered 1.0, he said.
In the Jammu region, Jammu city recorded 9.2 degrees Celsius, Katra recorded 8.4, Banihal 0.4, Batote recorded 2.9 and Bhaderwah 1.4 as the night’s lowest temperatures.
