The reports reveal that altogether 79 “terror incidents” have taken place in Jammu Kashmir during the period from January 01 to June 30, 2020

 Here is the full report maintained by The SADAAQAT TEAM in group effort with, Shafi Naqeeb, Owais Shafi and Mohammad Yamin Bhat.

This year most of the prominent militant commanders, including Hizb chief Riyaz Naikoo , were killed. Furthermore, the killing of several other militants has left a vacuum of senior militants in the Valley.

Currently, as per official records, Kashmir has around a hundred to two hundred militants’ active.

15 January:

27 January:

28 January:

 LeT militant arrested in Pattan identified as Sajid Farooq Dar @Adnan son of Farooq Ahmed Dar 19 years old resident of Gund Prang Madvan Hajin.

29 January:

  Five misguided youth were handed over to their families in presence of SSP Anantnag Altaf Ahmed Khan, SDM Kokernag and large gathering of people who after left home were on way to join militant outfit group.

30 January:

 Forces arrested Hizb militant (Fayaz Ahmed Mir son of Sona Ullah Mir) at Bumhama village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara. 01 AK 47 and other arms and ammunition were recovered from him.

31 January:

 3 Pakistani militants killed, 1 policeman injured, 3 other arrested (OGWs) namely Sartaj Ahmed Mantoo S/O Firdous Ahmed, Asif Ahmed Malik S/O Bashir Ahmed & Sameer Ahmed Dar S/O Abdul Rashid, all residents of Pulwama, Kashmir after a police team was attacked at a toll plaza in Jammu’s Nagrota, large quantity of arms and amno recovered.

07 February:

08 February:

09 February

10 February

  In a late night operation on Sunday, three over ground Workers (OGWs) were arrested from Pulwama district of south Kashmir in connection with the January 31 encounter. They have been identified as Suhail Javed Lone, Zahoor Ahmad Khan and Shoiab Manzoor.

  Poonch Police have recovered 1 AK-74 rifle, 1 magazine, 1 Chinese pistol, 1 pistol magazine from a hideout in Kunaiyan area of Poonch district.

  Kashmiri businessman from Achgoza, Pulwama Tanveer Ahmed Wani arrested in Delhi. Tanveer’s role came under scanner for giving money to Hizbul Commander Naveed Babu.

14 February:

Civilian died, two injured as Pak violates CFV at the LoC in Shahpur, Kerni sectors of Poonch deceased was identified as Badar Din, 55, son of Abdullah, Injured identified as Mohammad Shabir, 35, son of Shah Mohd and Mohd Taj, 24, son of Mohammad Sadiq All are residents of village Shahpur.

  Militant hideout busted in Keller Shopian recovered some arms and ammunition, no one was arrested.

  Three OGW’s held with hand grenade from their possession in Magarmal Bagh Srinagar identified as Irfan Ahmad Khan, Mudasir Aijaz and Wahid Ashraf Rather.

  Grenade lobbed on house of sarpanch Rubeena Akhter in Tilwaan pora Tregam Shadipora, Bandipora district at around 8:45 pm but grenade didn’t explode.

15 February:

 Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing & heavy shelling early morning today in J&K’s Hiranagar sector. Some houses damaged, no human loss or injury so far.

  Militants on Saturday evening lobbed a grenade at police station Pulwama, there was no report of any loss of life or property.

16 February:

19 February:

Three militants killed near Bajikol Kunjibal Tral, identified as Top Hizb Commander as Jahangir Rafiq Wani of Amirabad, Tral, Raja Umer (Hizb) of Lurgam, Tral and Sadat Thoker son of Farooq Ahmed Thoker, a resident of Waghama Bijbehera, Anantnag, Sadat went missing on August 5 joined AGH.

05 MARCH

5 OGW of Hizb were arrested after J&K police busted a module in Kishtwar on Thursday all Identified as Mohammad Yaseen, Zakir Hussain, Ghulam Hassan, Mohammad Iqbal and Bashir Ahmed officials adding that they were being interrogated.

  NIA along with a police party raids the house of (Ghulam Hyder Ganai) Junior Engineer, PHE at Bagh-e-Mehtab area of Srinagar outskirts, but didn’t find anything objectionable.

06 MARCH:

Civilian killed in Grenade blast at M.R Gunj, Srinagar has identified as Ghulam Nabi Ahangar resident of Zaina Kadal Srinagar, another one injured identified Rafiq Ahmad Shala (45), a resident of Kani Mazar Nawakadal.

  Forces during searches in an apple orchard at Krankshin near railway bypass crossing in Sopore town of Baramulla recovered three hand grenades, case registered.

13 MARCH FRIDAY:

Few days old militant Mudasir Ahmad Bhat son of Sonaullah Bhat a resident of Shutloo Rafiabad was killed in a very brief exchange of gunfire with joint party Rafiabad.

  Police recovered a grenade from the Nigli Nalah at Saloosa area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

14 MARCH

The data available reveals that this month there were 36 casualties including 15 men in uniform, 15 militants and three civilians. Three more civilians died post Srinagar encounter who came under a concrete wall of a house damaged in the firing

Kulgam police busted a militant’s hideout in Akhal Malwan Forest belt

  in Akhal- Malwan forest belt a Cordon and search operation was launched by Kulgam Police, 09 RR , 10 Para and 18 CRPF in the said area.

During the search a hideout was busted by the joint forces.

Srinagar: In less than six months, the Govt forces have managed to eliminate 93 militants in Jammu and Kashmir including a number of top militant leaders.

“Till today morning, 93 militants have been killed by the forces in Jammu and Kashmir. In the last two days, nine militants have been killed in the valley without any own fatal casualty,” Army sources said here.

 Top militant leaders killed include Riyaz Naikoo and Junaid Sehrai along with many foreign militants belonging to the Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Toiba, and The Resistance Front.

 Sources said that in 2010, as many as 270 militants were killed in action by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir. The number reduced to 119 in 2011. Then in 2012, 84 ultras were killed, 100 in 2013, 110 (2014), 113 (2015), 165 (2016) and 218 last year, the sources said.

 Soldier killed in Pakistan shelling in Rajori , Four soldiers die since June 5 at LoC.The slain soldier has been identified as Havildar Deepak Karki. Officials said that Deepak Karki was the fourth soldier to die on the LoC since June 5.

Pertinently, on June 4, Havaldar P Mathiazhagan was killed in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri while Naik Gurcharan Singh lost his life in a similar incident on June 10 in Tarkundi sector that runs along Rajouri and Poonch districts.  6 Operational Commanders among 106 Militants Killed This Year: Officials

 In all 106 militants have been so far this year and among those slain include six operational commanders of outfits like Hizbul-Mujahideen, the Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansaar Gazwatul Hind.

“They include Riyaz Naikoo, Abdul Rehman alias Fauji Bhai, Zubair, Qari Yasir, Junaid Sehri, Burhan Koka, Haider and Tayab Walid,” Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Range, Vijay Kumar said told news agencies.  

He said that 106 militants were killed so far this year while “100 to 200 militants are still active”.

  Those killed either by Forces personnel or during protest include Jahangir Ahmed of Hathmula Pulwama who was killed in Forces action after protest erupted at Beighpora after the killing of Hizb Commander Reyaz Naikoo.  Paramilitary troopers gunned down a civilian Mehrajuddin Shah of Makhama Beerwah after he allegedly didn’t stop at a barricade in Kawoosa Narbal area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Three civilians died in Srinagar after came under a concrete wall post encounter. They were Basim Ajaz, Fayaz Ahmed Bhat and Manzoor Ahmed.
